REACTION - Devolver Digital Absolutely Smashed Their E3 Presentation

After some extremely lacklustre showings from the likes of Capcom, as well as Koch Media’s frankly bizarre Zoom chat broadcast, Devolver Digital came out swinging this E3 with a presentation equal parts irreverent and jam packed. It was filled with all the excess and absurd humour we’ve come to expect, but that doesn’t mean it was in any way predictable.

The recurring gag around their supposed premium subscription service was on par with Obsidian’s self aware reveal for The Outer World’s 2. But the best part: the games shown were no joke. In fact, Trek to Yomi (a side scrolling samurai adventure), Death’s Door (a gorgeous looking action title), Wizard with a Gun (it’s all in the name), and Phantom Abyss (first person asymmetric puzzler) all stood out for the right reasons.

The format might have been utterly bonkers, but Devolver brought the goods. Kudos to the nutters. I’ve already signed up for DMP+.
