REACTION - Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, and Modern Warfare 2’s first Season, is post launch support done the right way
Your engagement with Call of Duty might have evolved over the years, or perhaps you lean more towards the mainline titles. But regardless of your current interest, there can be no denying the comprehensive nature of their post launch updates. The recently unveiled roadmap for the start of Warzone 2.0, as well as the kick off to Modern Warfare’s debut season, are both feature rich and packed with content.
Although the map design across multiplayer and battle royale hasn’t always been a home run, and there’s a tendency to prioritise wacky new modes over standard playlists with set squad sizes, there’s a lot to be excited for here. The return of classic multiplayer maps like Shipment and Shoothouse, alongside new Warzone features like interrogation, are exactly the right mixture of familiar and new to cover all bases.
Moving forward, I’d love to see a four player variant of the co-op missions, and more fundamental changes to the Warzone map across seasons. But this is a strong start to a series at the top of its game.
