REACTION - Remedy and Annapurna forging a partnership is the collaboration of dreams

Making it so, in the very best way.

In our wildest, optimistic dreams, we never could have predicted that Remedy and Annapurna would find a way to collaborate on such a fundamental level. Not only is Control 2 now being co-financed by the publisher behind Stray and Cocoon, but both Alan Wake and Control will receive TV and film adaptions as part of the deal.

Although our dream casting would be for the main actors from both games to appear in live action, it’s understandable that we’re getting ahead of ourselves because the potential here is simply wonderous. We’re massive fans of both teams here at Burly Bird Media, and the fact that Remedy are also now self publishing Control 2, while simultaneously ensuring that they can faithfully execute their vision, is a beacon of hope after a relentless slog of industry layoffs.

Despite no further elaboration, there is always the possibility that IP developed by Annapurna could then sneak its way into the Remedy Connected Universe, either as an easter egg or perhaps appearing as part of a more substantial crossover. At a time when independent teams have faced hardships in much the same way as wholly owned subsidiaries of massive publishers who aren’t necessarily safe either, today’s announcement is a win for creativity and job security.

TARPS?

At the bottom of some of our articles, you’ll see a series of absurd looking images (with equally stupid, in joke laden names). These are the TARP badges, which represent our ‘Totally Accurate Rating Platform’. They allow us to identify specific things, recognise positive or negative aspects of a games design, and generally indulge our consistent silliness with some visual tomfoolery.
