REACTION - Sniper Elite: Resistance is a perfect fit for Game Pass
We thought nothing would ever top the wonderful third party addition of Rainbow Six: Extraction onto Game Pass back in January 2022. It was the perfect melding of PvE co-op modes and destructive tactical play; we were hopelessly addicted when it originally dropped. But now, Rebellion have said “hold my luger” with confirmation that Sniper Elite: Resistance will be dropping into that coveted and entirely unofficial January third party Game Pass slot (word salad) at the start of 2025.
It feels more like an expansion pack than progressive sequel, especially since it narratively takes place parallel to the events of Sniper Elite 5. But if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. A full campaign, competitive multiplayer, and wave based survival mode are present and accounted for, and there’s even new “Propaganda Missions” thrown in as a side diversion.
Sniper Elite has been quietly becoming more refined with each entry, and 5 was the previous pinnacle of the series. We’re thrilled to see Rebellion having another crack at it, and with the promise of a full post launch Season Pass roadmap featuring additional customisation and fresh campaign maps, there’s plenty to get invested in.
TARPS?
At the bottom of some of our articles, you’ll see a series of absurd looking images (with equally stupid, in joke laden names). These are the TARP badges, which represent our ‘Totally Accurate Rating Platform’. They allow us to identify specific things, recognise positive or negative aspects of a games design, and generally indulge our consistent silliness with some visual tomfoolery.
