REACTION - Star Wars Zero Company is powered by devs with promising experience

A pleasant disturbance in the force.

One hopes that the creative stars align especially for games set in a galaxy far, far away. The recently unveiled Star Wars Zero Company certainly has the back of the box bullet points to earn some justified hype, as developer Bit Reactor in partnership with those wizards at Respawn are cooking up a fresh batch of turn based strategy.

Although details are thin on the ground, a Star Wars Celebration Japan panel set for the end of the week is poised to give us a more insightful peak. The key art reveals a Jedi, Mandalorian, and Rogue Trooper squadding up, which implies a Clone Wars era (or thereabouts) setting. There is also an obligatory droid who we will inevitably be smitten with almost immediately.

Interestingly, EA have confirmed a PC and console release, which for a turn based game is a treat given that these kind of titles tend to favour mouse and keyboard over a controller. If Bit Reactor can make it accessible enough on the sticks, then they’ll be on to a winner. We’ll have more coverage in the days and weeks ahead.

TARPS?

At the bottom of some of our articles, you’ll see a series of absurd looking images (with equally stupid, in joke laden names). These are the TARP badges, which represent our ‘Totally Accurate Rating Platform’. They allow us to identify specific things, recognise positive or negative aspects of a games design, and generally indulge our consistent silliness with some visual tomfoolery.
