In a twist worthy of every syllable currently being written about it, thatHITBOX’s team of crack pot journalist wizard types have exposed a genuine conspiracy within one of the biggest titles of this year. A revelation so shocking that the entire games industry will be shook to its V buck fuelled bones.

Desk lamps in Modern Warfare 2 are invincible. Other desk related items are not.

You should see this for yourself.

Believe it or not, there’s a lot to unpack here. First of all, this must have been a conscious choice from a design standpoint. Keyboards, water coolers, and desk monitors, among countless other trinkets, all crumble as you’d expect (and we’ve tested this, scientifically and thoroughly). But desk lamps refuse to budge. They remain unbroken and steadfast in their resolve.

The most important question here is why? And more importantly, what does this mean for Call of Duty moving forward? Is this some kind of subliminal messaging around the CMA investigation and FTC lawsuit? Does it suggest that no matter how much light is shone on the Activision buyout that Microsoft won’t budge?

Or is this a casual and irrelevant oversight where a bored developer couldn’t be arsed to animate them?

We’ll let you be the judge. I know which way I’m leaning!
