REACTION - Dead Island 2 looks a lot better than it has any right to be

Changing [undead] hands.

Inevitable hype following a protracted development and numerous delays is one thing, but Dead Island 2’s journey to [near] release has been fraught with turmoil. This is a game that has changed hands across multiple studios, gone completely dark for a protracted period of time, and yet here we are.

Mere months aware from its April release, Dambuster Studios’ follow up might actually see the light of day and… turn out alright?! A recent gameplay stream that featured an extended live action (and very tongue in cheek) trailer paints a much rosier picture than one would assume for a title that has been through the ringer.

There are no guarantees that this “extended” development cycle will pay off, but the screenshots and footage unveiled thus far have proven that Dead Island 2 is (mercifully) further along than we thought, and it has the right ingredients to actually be a winner. We’ll continue to cover the game as we approach launch.
