REACTION - Atomic Heart looks like the BioShock on steroids we were hoping for

Andrew Ryan would be pleased.

Atomic Heart has just been given a confirmed release date of February 21st 2023. Although much of the narrative context and gameplay systems remain a mystery since its initial unveiling (almost five years ago!), this latest sneak peak has given us the confidence to double down on the initial BioShock comparisons (in a good way!).

It’s exactly the kind of new IP i’ve been hoping to see from this console generation; a title willing to embrace a certain "Kojima / Death Stranding-esque” absurdity and try something new. It’s also a wonderful get for Game Pass, and will undoubtedly strengthen Microsoft’s offering after a middling 2022 (at least for bigger budget narrative games).

There is still a lot we don’t know, but Atomic Heart is looking better and stranger than ever.
