REACTION - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden and Space Marine 2 are both looking bang tidy
Focus Entertainment just dropped an extended look at a couple of their upcoming titles for the end of the year, and all signs point to positive. Although Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden has a slight coating of “Life is Strange” hokeyness, that didn’t stop it from being an interesting deep dive. Space Marine 2 is looking every bit the worthy sequel to the 2011 original, with World War Z devs Sabre Interactive bringing their expertise of big hordes to a universe known to be full of them.
It’s satisfying to see both teams playing to their strengths; dialogue choices are a staple of DontNod’s prior efforts, and Space Marine 2’s support of campaign co-op is appreciated. Banishers is dropping 7th November 2023, while a vague “2023” is all we got for Space Marine 2, although a beta was revealed for the latter.
We’ve got a stacked end of year approaching, and these have both certainly added to the platter!
TARPS?
At the bottom of some of our articles, you’ll see a series of absurd looking images (with equally stupid, in joke laden names). These are the TARP badges, which represent our ‘Totally Accurate Rating Platform’. They allow us to identify specific things, recognise positive or negative aspects of a games design, and generally indulge our consistent silliness with some visual tomfoolery.
